An Enduring Legacy
The Moon Brook Country Club was conceived through the commitment of the Jamestown Rotary Club, the area's first service organization, founded in 1919. The Rotary Club's inaugural service project in 1920 was to establish a premier golf course for the Jamestown community.
The Vision: A Community Cornerstone (1919-1921)
Dedicated Rotarians and community leaders financed the land purchase. They commissioned the legendary Willie Park Jr., a Scottish-born Hall of Fame architect, to design a full 18-hole course. Financial constraints initially allowed for the construction of only the first nine holes, which opened for play in July 1921. The full 18-hole design was realized when the second nine were completed and opened in 1928-1929.
